For industrial water, wastewater, or collection systems applications, the Hach FLO-DAR® AV Sensor delivers a unique approach to monitoring open channel flow. Using a fusion of modern technology like Digital Doppler Radar velocity sensing with ultrasonic pulse echo depth sensing, the FLO-DAR is able to measure this channel flow remotely. It works with the wireless or standard Hach FL900 Series Flow Logger to deliver portable monitoring. The FLO-DAR can also be connected to the FL1500 Series Flow Monitor for permanent power application sites.

By measuring fluid velocity from above, the FLO-DAR is able to avoid common issues such as high solids content and disturbances in the sensor, two issues that commonly affect submerged sensors. It is able to work without issue even in conditions that may prove difficult due to factors like high temperatures or shallow flows. Additionally, FLO-DAR has an optional SVS electromagnetic sensor able to provide accurate and interruption-free flow monitoring even in dry or wet weather flows, removing the need to clean the sensor.
