Little Rock Solves Overflow Issues With the SL-RAT

About two decades ago, Little Rock, Arkansas was dealing with a severe overflow issue. Any time it rained, hundreds of overflows were occurring, including lasting for several hours. Today, that number has been reduced dramatically and that is partially due to InfoSense’s Sewer Line Rapid Assessment Tool (SL-RAT).

As part of the initiative, the Little Rock Water Reclamation Authority began using the SL-RAT to examine pipes that required cleaning. Following the cleaning, the pipes were re-tested. Should the pipe still fail to meet threshold benchmarks, CCTV equipment was used to take a closer look at the pipe and perform the necessary cleaning. By using the SL-RAT, Little Rock saved time and money by eliminating the need to clean out sewer lines that may not have needed it, allowing the utility to concentrate its efforts on the pipes contributing to the overflow issues.
