New Options for the Dynasonics TFX-5000 Ultrasonic Meter

With its exceptional reliability and low costs of installation, the Dynasonics TFX-5000 Ultrasonic clamp-on flow meter has earned significant acclaim and popularity within the water and wastewater industry. Customers that purchase the meter now have the option of ODVA certified EtherNet/IP communication to provide precise flow measurements to different systems.

In water and wastewater applications, EtherNet/IP is widely used to link flow instrumentation and sensors to PLC and DCS systems, particularly in scenarios involving Allen-Bradley® Logix controllers installations. EtherNet/IP provides real-time control and data aggregation, using established Ethernet standards with an industrial protocol layer that is custom-made for dependability and speed.

The flow rate plus the total volume of liquid will be calculated by TFX-5000 meters by measuring the deviation between the transit time of the ultrasonic wave moving with and against the fluid flow. The time difference is then used to calculate the rate of the fluids. Thanks to pipe clamping the meter does not necessitate pipe cutting or tapping. With this design, the installation cost is dramatically reduced and it takes out the risks associated with meter pollutants or fouling.

How to Tell if Your Flow Meter Is Costing You Money

Flow meters are designed to help you control costs, not create them. But when a meter becomes inaccurate or goes untested, it can quietly lead to wasted resources, inefficiencies, and unexpected expenses. At the Avanti Company, we help customers identify when flow measurement issues may be impacting their bottom line. One of the first signs … Continued
