Water meters may be checked often, depending on the location and type of water meter. It is crucial that water meters are accessible at all times so that they can be quickly checked and assessed by staff. Other everyday objects that can block meters are cars, trailers, trash cans, recycling bins, construction equipment, gardening supplies, landscape, and gravel. If you know that someone is coming to read your meter, check that the area is clear for them to work. Otherwise, keep an eye on the site to make sure it is not continuously blocked or covered.
