Itron Water ERT Modules

itron100W

Itron’s water ERT endpoint modules are designed to function as radio-based endpoints that attach to existing or new water meters, preparing them for an automatic meter reading system, commonly referred to by its AMR acronym or an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI). The primary responsibility of the ERT is to provide the data required for accurate and on-time water billing.

The latest Itron ERT 100W modules area water endpoint that provides enhanced capabilities like interval meter data that is time synchronized and two-way communication to the meter. With the 100W endpoint, water utilities are able to receive significant amounts of information which can then be utilized in multiple ways throughout the Utility, like field service, distribution planning, and conservation.

By using just one Endpoint, water utilities have increased flexibility in collecting meter data within an environment that is mobile or fixed. The 100W endpoint is also fully migratable and can be upgraded from mobile to fixed network reading without changing the endpoint hardware.  It is capable of storing up to forty days of hourly reads, boosting the integrity of data along with providing alarms for tampering and reverse flow.  Thanks to its multiple mounting options, the Endpoint not only boosts deployment flexibility, it assists in lowering the costs of installation.  Itron’s ERT modules work with existing water meters by most manufacturers.  There is also a 60W series available and a Water Save Source Endpoint available.

McCrometer Saves the Day at Covanta Energy Corporation

Honolulu’s Covanta Energy Corporation faced a stubborn problem of having to accurately measure cooling tower blowdown water flowing at irregular intervals prior to reinjection into the facility’s caprock. This irregular flow resulted in foam and bubbles forming in the line, necessitating a better flow meter solution to ensure that the facility remained within its daily … Continued
