Resuming our focus on showcasing Badger meter products, today we’re taking a closer look at the Badger Recordall (RCDL) positive displacement meter. When you need a cost-effective industrial fluid metering solution, the RCDL is a highly effective tool. Despite its simple yet rugged design, it is able to deliver the utmost accuracy and repeatability across the entire meter flow range.

While using the RCDL is simple, the operation going on behind the scenes is fascinatingly intricate. Using the positive displacement principle, a disc in the meter will nutate, causing the center spindle to rotate a magnet. Each of the magnet revolutions is equivalent to a fixed volume of fluid, which then undergoes conversion into any unit of measure for process control, indication, or totalization. Local totalization, pulse and 4-20mA output registers are available for process control.

There are five different RCDL sizes available for flows as high as 170 gpm. They require very little maintenance and there are also lead-free models available for potable water applications.
