Flow Meters for Oil and Gas Applications

While they’re typically associated with water and wastewater applications, McCrometer’s flow meter products are also an effective solution for use in oil and gas flow measurement. In fact, the oil and gas industry has relied on McCrometer for decades and the products have been used for purposes such as oil, floating production storage and offloading (FPSO), and natural gas flow measurement. These meters can easily handle challenges such as disturbed flow, wet gas, high turndowns or fluids that may abrasive.

McCrometer’s V-Cone Flow Meter is one example of these meters. The advanced differential pressure flow meter is designed for use with gas, liquid, or steam, even in difficult conditions where accuracy and maintaining costs low is imperative. The cone is self-conditioning which eliminates the requirement for long straight pipe runs, allowing the V-cone to fit in spaces that may be tight. In turn, workers have even more installation flexibility when working with applications including injections, pump discharge, wellheads, and gas lifts, to name a few.
