Besides being able to measure flow and energy, TFX-5000 meters boasts features ideal for use in HVAC, water and wastewater, oil and gas and industrial applications, including time and date stamped data logging (up to eight records) and alarm history.
TFX-5000 meters can measure the rate of flow as well as the total liquid volume by measuring the time difference between the ultrasound wave travel time going with the fluid flow as well as against the fluid flow. The time difference is then used to calculate fluid velocity. If it is ordered as an RTD energy meter, it can perform heat transfer rate and energy usage calculations.
The TFX-5000 uses pipe clamping, which means there is no need to tap or cut into the pipe, This design cuts down on total installation cost and eliminates the risk of meter fouling or contamination. Furthermore, there is no risk of pressure head loss nor are there any moving parts needing to be maintained or replaced. Additional features include its bi-directional flow measuring range, rugged aluminum enclosure, and ultrasonic speed and temperature compensation.
TFX-5000 meters are able to replicate, replace, and enhance the performance of the Dynasonics TFX Ultra ultrasonic clamp-on meters which will eventually be phased out and discounted.
